David entered the financial services business in 1993 after retiring from a successful legal career in Wynyard, Saskatchewan during which time his practice focused on wills, estates, matrimonial, and farm related law. He is also a qualified mediator.

In 1997 he co-founded and became president of Discovery Financial Group Ltd. a financial services company with offices across Saskatchewan.

He has written and taught a Farm Estate Planning course for SIAST and conducts numerous farm estate planning seminars throughout Saskatchewan. .

His practice now specializes in succession planning for farmers and small business owners.
